Here you will find everything you need to know about hiring our bar

These are some of the questions we are asked by our clients before they book with us....

How does it work?

How much does it cost to hire you?

Do you have a huge deposit? 

Do you have a setup fee? 

Do you charge extra for more hours? 

Are your drinks stupidly expensive? 

So, how does it work? 

You will be asked questions about your event and venue, you decide what times you'd like us serving your guests, we arrive around 4 hours before, unload the trailer and setup the bar, the fridges are filled, the bar is decorated, we change into smart clothes and then we're ready to serve your guests.

At the end of the night (15-20 minutes before the bar is due to close) Sam will call last orders, after the last drink is served, we will pack everything up, reload the trailer and take away our own rubbish.

What do we need to know?

Firstly, the location of your venue - If you are within 20 miles of TQ7 3QT then we don't charge a fuel or travel fee, If you're over the 20 mile limit then there will be a small fuel charge e.g £75 for Exeter, £90 for Okehampton, £120 for Taunton, please ask for a quote for your location.

- How many guests you will be having during the day and any extras during the evening, how many of these are 18+ and how many are children?

- Will we need our marquee or will we be inside?

-Will we need to bring our generator for power or is power supplied?

- Do you need a Temporary Events Notice? If your venue is in a barn, field or on a farm then chances are you will need an events notice, if you're in a village hall they will sometimes already have a premises licence so a TEN isn't needed, if you are unsure then please just ask and I can find out for you. It is a legal requirement that your event is licensed to have alcohol sold.

We have 2 staff that hold the APLH qualification which means we are legally allowed to sell alcohol at your event providing the venue has a premises licence, if no premises licence is held at the venue, a temporary events notice can be obtained from the local council. This is an online form that I can submit for you, the cost is £30.

This usually takes about 2 weeks to obtain so don't leave it too late to book.

How much is it to hire us for your event?

To book your date....

a £250 deposit is required - This covers our setup and pack away time

If you're over 20 miles of Churchstow then a fuel cost is added (Please ask)

Do you require a Temporary Events Notice? Add £30

Is our generator needed? Add £40

Would you like glasses for your tables? Add £25 for every 50 glasses

If you'd like Welcome drinks, Toast Drinks or Table Wine then a quote can be supplied.

We don't charge for Bar Staff

We don't charge to take our rubbish away.

What actually comes with the bar setup?

We have 4 x genuine aged whiskey barrels that hold a 9ft Oak bar top

2 large triple drinks fridges, an ice machine, 30L Burco Boiler if needed, pretty decorations, fairy lights

and if needed our 3x3m marquee and 7kVA generator.

How are drinks paid for?

You have a few options when it comes to how the bar is paid for -

Paid Bar - Our cheapest option and most popular, this is your guests paying for all their drinks.

Free Drink Tokens - We can supply you with Drinks tokens that can be redeemed at the bar by your guests, we have alcoholic and soft drinks tokens, your guests can choose any single spirit and mixer (excluding premiums), small glass of wine, Cider, Lager, Ale or Prosecco or any soft drink. You can use these in your wedding favours or they can be given to your guests on arrival, They are £3.50 each for alcoholic tokens and £1.50 each for Soft Drink Tokens, these must be paid for in advance.

Free BarThis option is your guests drinking for free, the host must pay a £1000 deposit for this service and any extra bill must be paid on the night (if £1000 isn't reached then the remaining balance will be refunded) 

Cash 'Behind the bar' - Some people like to put an amount 'Behind the Bar', your guests will be able to drink for free until this money runs out, it then becomes a paid bar.

Welcome Drinks, Toast Drinks, Table Wine & Drinks Tokens

Are you thinking of having welcome drinks, toast drinks or table wine? We can provide all of these for you and serve them to your guests on arrival and at the tables, If you have children at your event then a non alcoholic cocktail can be served as well as lemonade, orange juice etc, Please just ask for a quote.

We have our own drinks tokens that can be given to your guests on arrival, put in favours or handed out by yourselves, these are to be Pre Paid and your guests can come to the bar and choose any single spirit with mixer, small glass of Wine/Prosecco or Cider, Lager, Beer or Ale for £3.50 per token, soft drink tokens are £1.50 and your guests can choose any canned soft drink that we have (Coke, Diet Coke, Fanta, Sprite, Orange juice, Apple Juice)

If you wish to supply your own Table Wine then I ask that you only have a maximum of 2 bottles per table please, We keep our hire costs down so we can offer a cost effective bar hire service, we ask that no other drinks (alcoholic or soft drinks) are supplied to your guests if you hire us for your event, if drinks are supplied to your guests (that aren't purchased through us) then your £100 deposit is not refundable. 

What drinks do we supply?

Please ask for our current Bar Menu for our prices, Some of the drinks on our list are as follows-

We have a huge range of spirits including over 20 different Gins, we have flavoured Vodkas as well as a few Premiums (Salcombe Gin, Devon Cove Vodka, Boe Violet Gin) some of our more popular Gins include: Salcombe Gin, Salcombe Rose, Gordons Passionfruit/ Peach/ Pink/ Orange, Alfred Button Bramble, Imaginaria Turkish delight/ Pornstar Martini Gin/ Rhubarb & Custard, Jaffa Cake Gin and lots more.

Flavoured Vodkas Include Smirnoff Apple/ Raspberry Crush/ Passionfruit/ Vanilla, Kopparberg Blackcurrant & Lime.

Some of our Spirits include Pimms, Jack Daniels/JD Honey/ JD Apple, Captain Morgans, Bacardi, Archers, Ameretto, Powers Whiskey, Port, Martini, Sheep Dog Peanut Butter Whiskey, Devon Cove Rum and lots more.

All our spirits come with a free mixer - Tonic, Slimline Tonic, Coke, Diet Coke, Schweppes Lemonade, Ginger Beer, Orange Juice, Apple Juice, & Red Bull.

We do have Fever Tree tonic if preferred, these are £1 each. 

Shots include -

Toffee Vodka, Tequila, Tequila Rose, Sambuca, Sambuca Raspberry, Sourz Raspberry/ Apple/ Cherry/ Rainbow/ Passionfruit & Jager, these are all included in our £3 each or 4 for £10 offer,

Jager Bombs are £3.50 each or 4 for £12. 

Our Beer menu is as follows:

Thatchers Gold, Thatchers Haze, San Miguel, Doom Bar, Tribute & Guinness.

Soft drinks include -

Coke, Diet Coke, Fanta, R.Whites Lemonade, Red Bull, Orange & Apple Juice, J20 Mango & Passionfruit, Sanpellagrino, Fruit Shoots & Bottled Water.

Hot Drinks - Please ask if you'd like us to bring our Hot Drinks!

Tea, Coffee, Herbal Teas, Hot Chocolate

We can supply Hot drinks to your guests after your meal, we use takeaway cups but if you'd like tea/ coffee cups these can be hired for £25 for every 50.

If you have a specific drink/s that you'd like us to bring then just ask :) we will try our very best to have it for you on the day. 

Glass Hire

Glasses can be hired for your guests/tables at £25 for 50 Glasses, we have a range of different glasses to choose from including Wine Glasses, Water Glasses, Shot Glasses, Hi Ball Glasses, Prosecco Glasses, Hot drinks Cups and lots more.

Licensing

We are fully licensed and insured to serve alcohol, we have 2 people that hold the required APLH Personal Alcohol Licence.

To be able to sell and serve alcohol at your event either the premises has to have a premises licence or a Temporary Events Notice must be Applied for through the local council at a cost of £30, we can do this for you to save another thing going on your to do list.

I will call for last orders 20 minutes before the bar is scheduled to close (time decided by you) Once we hit closing time, no more drinks will be served - No Exceptions.

Challenge 25 will be used for the sale of alcohol,

if a person is lucky enough to look under 25, they will be asked for ID, if no acceptable ID is shown then no drink is served - No Exceptions

What sort of Bar would you like at your event?

Below you will find the different options available to pay for the bar.

Paid Bar

Option 1.
This option means all guests pay for their own drinks.
We provide a cash and card option.

Drink Tokens

Option 2.
This option allows you to give each guest (or guests of your choosing) a free drink, or free drinks for the evening. This is paid for in advance and the tokens will be given to you to give to your chosen guests or add into your favours.

Full Paid Bar

Option 3.
This option gives your guests a free bar, you can either pay a chosen amount and once this limit is reached the bar then becomes a paid bar.
The deposit is your chosen amount of funds.
Or, you pay for all drinks for all guests until closing time.
Depending on the number of guests, there is a minimum £1000 deposit for this option and any remaining payment is to be made on the night.
